FOR FILMMAKERS
Filmmaker Submission Terms
Effective October 15, 2026. These terms apply when an adult filmmaker submits a film to OFFCUT for review.
1. Age, authority and clearances
You must be at least 18 to submit a film. By submitting, you confirm that you made the film or are authorised to submit it, and that you have the permissions needed for the film, music, performances, script, footage, artwork, posters, credits and other included material. Tell OFFCUT about any rights restrictions that affect where, how or for how long the film may be shown.
2. You keep your rights
You keep ownership of your film and retain your exclusive rights in it. OFFCUT does not acquire ownership or exclusive rights. If your film is approved, you give OFFCUT a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive permission to host, store, display and stream the film on OFFCUT; make technical copies or changes needed to host and play it; and show its title, synopsis, poster and credits with the OFFCUT listing. OFFCUT may let its hosting and playback providers exercise those limited permissions for OFFCUT. This permission lasts while the film is listed and through the removal period described below.
You are free to promote, distribute, screen, license or publish your film however you want, on OFFCUT or elsewhere. OFFCUT does not restrict you from working with another platform or promoting your film through your own channels.
3. Review, approval and removal
OFFCUT may ask questions, decline, pause or remove a submission where information is incomplete, rights are unclear, the film appears unlawful or a rights-holder raises a credible concern. Pending films are not in the public catalogue. Approval is not a promise of a particular number of viewers, press, awards, continued availability or payment.
For an approved film, use Request removal beside the film in Creator Studio. OFFCUT will review the request. If OFFCUT accepts it, the film will be removed from the public catalogue and OFFCUT playback will be disabled no later than 30 days after the acceptance date. The dashboard will show whether the request is awaiting review or the scheduled removal date. OFFCUT may remove a film sooner where needed to address a rights, safety or legal issue.
The removal schedule applies to OFFCUT's listing and playback. It does not instantly erase private storage, service backups or records OFFCUT must retain.
4. Files and playback
An MP4 uploaded to OFFCUT is stored in OFFCUT's private video storage. It remains private while pending and is available through OFFCUT playback if approved. For this free pilot, uploads must be MP4 files no larger than 50 MB. OFFCUT uses the browser's built-in video player; a separate video-player account is not required.
5. Accurate details and suitable content
Provide accurate title, credits, runtime, language, production year, country and age guidance. Do not submit material you do not have the right to share, private information without permission, unlawful content or material that infringes another person's rights. OFFCUT may rely on the information you provide when deciding whether to review or publish the film.
6. Payment and costs
OFFCUT's current version does not calculate or pay filmmaker earnings. Submitting a film does not create a revenue share or payment obligation. Any future financial arrangement must be agreed in a separate written contract. The current MP4 upload and playback pilot is built on OFFCUT's existing free-tier services, subject to their storage and usage limits.
7. Privacy and contact
OFFCUT handles submission details and files as described in its Privacy Policy. A dedicated public contact email has not been set up yet; it will be added when OFFCUT has its own domain. Approved-film removal requests can be made in Creator Studio.
