USING THE SERVICE
Terms of Use
Effective October 15, 2026. By creating an account or using OFFCUT, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy.
1. The service
OFFCUT is a short-film discovery and viewing service with viewer profiles and a filmmaker submission area. Films are reviewed before appearing in the public catalogue. Catalogue availability, recommendations and features may change as the service develops.
2. Age and accounts
You must be 18 or older to create or use an OFFCUT account or viewer profile. Filmmakers must also be at least 18. At signup, you must confirm your age and provide accurate account details. Keep your sign-in method secure and tell us if you believe someone else has accessed your account. Each account can have up to five profiles; the account owner can manage them.
3. Viewer rules
Use OFFCUT only for lawful personal viewing. Do not copy, download, record, redistribute, publicly perform or commercially exploit films without the rights holder's permission. Do not bypass access controls, disrupt the service, upload harmful code, scrape the catalogue at scale, or use another person's account without permission.
4. Filmmaker submissions
Filmmakers must follow the separate Filmmaker Submission Terms. A submission is not automatically public. OFFCUT may review, decline, restrict or remove a submission. Approval does not mean OFFCUT owns the film or promises distribution, views, awards, revenue or payment. Monetisation and filmmaker payouts are not enabled; any future payment arrangement requires a separate written agreement.
5. Rights and third-party services
OFFCUT and its licensors keep rights in the OFFCUT name, design, software and service. Film rights remain with their rights holders, subject to the limited non-exclusive permission in the Filmmaker Submission Terms. Sign-in, site delivery, database, storage and video delivery use providers such as Google, Supabase and Cloudflare. Their own terms apply to their services.
6. Suspension and availability
OFFCUT may limit or suspend access to protect users, address suspected misuse, or respond to legal or rights-holder concerns. We may update, pause or discontinue parts of the service. Continuous or uninterrupted access is not promised.
7. Disclaimers
OFFCUT is provided while it is being developed. To the extent allowed by applicable law, we do not guarantee that every film, recommendation or feature will always be available or error-free. Nothing in these terms removes rights that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.
8. Governing law and contact
These terms are operated by Rishit Arora in India and are governed by applicable laws of India, subject to rights that cannot legally be waived. A dedicated public contact email has not been set up yet; it will be added when OFFCUT has its own domain. Filmmakers can send approved-film removal requests through Creator Studio.
